Sochi is one of the major resorts of Russia. It is also considered to be a capital of the southern part of Russia. Being a huge financial and cultural center, the city is developing fast during the last few decades. The winter Olympic Games 2014 have shown it to be a world-class resort for many tourists and a great place to hold professional sports competitions.
The Russian stage of Formula 1 has boosted the post-Olympic development of the city. The Royal race in addition to the superior infrastructure of the Olympic Sochi attract thousands of speed fans from all over the world and provide a great tourist traffic even after the end of the winter holiday season.
Taking into account such significant events for the region, the Russian Yacht community decided to organize Sochi Yacht Show here. The Black Sea, namely an inland sea of the Atlantic Ocean basin, provides a wonderful opportunity for a year-round navigation. By the Bosporus Strait it connects to the sea of Marmara, then one could sail through the Dardanelles (often called the Black Sea Straits) – from the Aegean and Mediterranean seas.
Sochi Grand Marina was chosen as a place to hold this exhibition organized by the Russian Yacht society. It is important to note, that in March 2016 in the framework of the III Annual National Award in the field of sports and healthy lifestyle “Sport Russia” the yacht port Sochi Grand Marina won as the best yachting development project in the Russian Federation.
Sochi Yacht Show traditionally brings together the brightest representatives of Russian yacht community and foreign yachting fans. Among the exhibitors, there are the largest yacht companies, shipyards, dealers, brokers and charter companies.
